Description
In the process of this workshop we turn expectations or “shoulds” - that make us experience negative emotions - into intention, where we are excited about our goal and empowered to take action. The process has the following steps:
  1. Identify expectations or shoulds in your life
  2. Identify negative emotions behind your shoulds
  3. Recognize the values behind these negative emotions
  4. Reframe your should so you can accept what’s been happening so far
  5. Reframe what you want so that you are empowered and excited about it
  6. Commit to actions towards achieving what you want.
Premise
The premise of the workshop is that naturally we focus our attention on our unmet expectations. Focusing on unmet expectations makes us feel bad because we pay attention to what we DO NOT WANT in our perceived reality, instead of what we want. The reframing steps allow us to accept what is, and let go of resistance. We then are able to focus on what we want, and this is the place of empowerment and seeing opportunities for actions.
